  • In this study, a new and efficient method for analysis of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (16 EU PAHs) which are classified as a priority for various food groups by the Scientific Committee on Food (SCF) in different types of tea samples (black, green, white) is described. The sample preparation procedure included ethyl acetate extraction followed by a solid phase extraction (SPE) using a molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) column for a selective isolation of target compounds was optimized and validated. For the final identification/quantitation of target 16 EU PAHs a two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with a time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GCGC TOFMS) was used. Performance characteristics of this new procedure including repeatability (2-9 %), limit of quantitations (LOQs, 0.15?0.30 ?g.kg-1) and recovery (73?103 %) were assessed.
