Description
| - Antimicrobial peptides have broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity. We have isolated fractions with activity from the species: tobacco, horse-radish, pasqueflower seeds, spinach and from horse-radish and tomato tissue cultures with activity against fungi Cladosporium herbarum, Alternaria sp. and bacteria Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus megatherium, Micrococcus luteus, Streptococcus equii zooepidermicus, Enterococcus faecalis and Citrobacter sp. The mass spectrometry MALDI-TOF showed the presence of antimicrobial peptide precursors cystein proteinase 3 and antimicrobial protein NP-24 in tissue cultures.
