Description
| - Studie se zabývá hledáním homologů isoflavonové synthasy mimo čeleď Fabaceae. PCR produkty okolo 700 bp byly získány a sekvenovány z DNA Cannabis sativa, Humulus lupulus (Cannabaceae), Ruta montana, R. graveolens (Rutaceae) and Nicotiana tabacum (Solanaceae). (cs)
- Isoflavonoids constitute a specific branch of flavonoid metabolism, differing from the other flavonoids by the position of the phenolic ring B. The overwhelming majority of about 1600 isoflavonoids described to date have been found in legumes. Nevertheless, the presence of isoflavonoids has been reported in not less than 60 families which fall into four classes of multicellular plants. As a first step of the isoflavonoids biosynthesis, flavanones naringenin and liquiritigenin undergo migration of the B-ring from the position 2 to the position 3, accompanied by the hydroxylation at the position 2. The resulting 2-hydroxyisoflavone is unstable and dehydrates spontaneously or in an enzyme-catalyzed reaction to the corresponding isoflavone, i.e. genistein and daidzein, respectively. The enzyme responsible for this unique reaction is 2-hydroxyisoflavanone synthase, most often referred to in literature as isoflavone synthase (IFS). The genes which encode IFS have been identified in numerous legumes and in
