  • Eleven antifoaming agents (AAs) were tested. Their effect upon the activated sludge process was examined in bench-scale sequencing batch reactors. Basic chemical parameters of the effluent quality (COD, forms of nitrogen, PO43-, pH, SS) and biological foam occurrence were determined. Some of the tested AAs caused higher effluent concentrations of COD. Process of nitrification was not affected; differences in nitrogen removal efficiencies were significant in three cases. The biodegradability was examined by following methods: closed bottle test, respirometric test and CEC-test. The defoaming ability was tested on a mixture of surfactants and on biological foam. The defoamers based upon the ethoxylated methylesters of rapeseed oil showed the highest degree of degradation and the best defoaming ability at the same time.

  • Prezentovaná práce se zabývá testováním jedenácti různých odpěňovacích přípravků. Jejich vliv na aktivační proces byl zkoumán v laboratorních SBR modelech. Byla sledována kvalita odtoku (ukazatele CHSK, formy dusíku, PO43-, pH, NL) a výskyt pěny v reaktorech. Některé z přípravků způsobily vyšší odtokové koncentrace CHSK, nitrifikace nebyla ovlivněna, významné rozdíly v účinnosti odstranění dusíku byly pozorovány ve třech případech. Rozložitelnost byla testována metodou stanovení BSK28 v uzavřených lahvičkách, respirometricky a CEC-testem. Odpěňovací schopnosti byly zkoumány na směsi tenzidů a na biologické pěně. Nejlepší odpěňovací schopnost a současně nejlepší rozložitelnost vykázaly přípravky na bázi ethoxylovaných methylesterů řepkového oleje. (cs)
