Description
  • Paper deals with effect of UV-light on response of conductive-type gas sensor. The ultraviolet light represents nobler form of energy compared with thermal energy produced by sensor heater. The UV-light irradiation of active layer alters significantly the detection process and due to its influence sensor parameters are improved. Therefore irradiated sensor requires lower operation temperature, so the power consumption is reduced. The compound layer of zinc oxide (90%) and zinc acetylacetonate (10 %) exhibits sensitivity SDC = 2.2 to 0.3 ppm ozone in dry air at 150 °C without irradiation. With irradiation (lambda = 395 nm) sensitivity increases to SDC = 14.6.
