Description
  • For the preparation of photocatalyst films sol-gel method is often used. Sol-gel technology is a low temperature method of preparing metal oxide films by chemical way. These films are based on metal organic chemicals, mainly metallic alkoxides or metal colloid solutions. The main advantage of using a sol-gel technique is achievement of a good control of surface properties such as composition, thickness and topography. This method allows preparation of materials with exceptional purity, homogenity and composition and is also used for direct catalyst modification by dopants.
