Description
| - A set of sodium silicate baseline glasses with different concentrations and combinations of Ca2+, Mg2+, and Zn2+ were melted. The glasses were doped with several different amounts of erbium and contained the same molar concentrations of sodiu. Optical properties of the samples as well as those of optical waveguides fabricated in the glasses by potassium and silver ion exchange were measured by using a number of methods. The influence of basicity of the glasses was discussed in order to predict the variation of the electron donor power of oxygen atoms in particular types of the glasses. The glasses containg Zn and/or Mg are promising candidates for optical waveguide amplifiers.

- Byl připraven set skel s různou basicitou danou kombinací dvoumocných modifikátorů, obsahujících různý obsah erbia a stejné molární koncentrace oxidu sodného. Byly měřeny optické vlastnosti skel i vlnovodů v nich připravených iontovou výměnou draselných a stříbrných iontů. Nejvhodnější pro použití jako optické zesilovače jsou skla obsahující zinek a/nebo hořčík. (cs)
