  • Zeolite materials are widely used in separation and catalytic processes in chemical industry. An understanding of mass transfer is needed in the optimization and development of the industrial applications of the zeolites. The experimental measurements of diffusion and sorption characteristics in zeolites show a lack of consistency of results obtained using the different techniques.Transport and sorption of light hydrocarbons (propane, n-butane, isobutane) in the zeolite ZSM-5 was examined by the tapered element oscillating microbalance (TEOM). Within the TEOM the mass change of a vibrating tube, caused due to the adsorption of a gas on a zeolite sample, is determined by frequency measurements.   • V chemickém průmyslu v separačních a katalytických procesech je rozšířené použití zeolitů. Pro optimalizaci a vývoj průmyslových aplikací zeolitů je nezbytné důkladné porozumění transportu hmoty.Transport a sorpce lehkých uhlovodíků (propan, n-butan, iso-butan) v zeolitech ZSM-5 byly studovány metodou TEOM (Tapered Element Oscillating Microbalance). TEOM může být použito nejen pro měření ustáleného stavu, ale i pro neustálené měření adsorpce a desorpce.Pro odhad difusních koeficientů (fitováním experimentálních dat) byl vyvinut matematický model sorpce s difusí do částice. Model se skládá z rovnic kontinuity, které ústí v systém parciálních diferenciálních a obyčejných diferenciálních rovnic. Pro řešení bylo použito metody přímek aplikované na finitní element ortogonální kolokace. Výpočty byly provedeny ve fortranu. Adsorpční entalpie a adsorbované množství při nasycení byly vypočítány nelineární regresí z hodnot adsorbovaného množství při různých teplotách a tlacích. Bylo předpokládáno, že systém je (cs)
