  • Polarization curves on irradiated TiO2 layers were measured in various basic electrolytes, namely sodium hydroxide and sulphuric acid. Photocurrents for sol-gel TiO2 layers are in all mentioned electrolyte higher than that for Degussa P25 TiO2 layers. In solutions of oxidizable substrates (oxalic acid) the trend is inversed: P25 layers show higher currents, with a steep increase with concentration of solute than at the TiO2 layer prepared by sol-gel. The effect of applied potential depends strongly on the type of TiO2 film. Photodegradation at open circuit is for particulate TiO2 film about 4 times higher than that for sol-gel film. Applying potential 0.6 V (SCE) on particulate film results in an increase about 130 % (in relation to open circuit degradation rate) while in the case of sol gel film the increase is much higher (about 350 %).

  • Byly měřeny polarizační křivky na ozařovaných TiO2 vrstvách v různých elektrolytech (hydroxid sodný, kyselina sírová). Fotoproudy pro for sol-gel TiO2 vrstvy jsou pro oba elektrolyty vyšší než pro vrstvy obsahující částice TiO2 (P25 Degussa). V roztocích obsahujících oxidovatelnou látku (kyselina šťavelová) je trend opačný, částicové vrstvy (P25) vykazují vyšší proudy než pro sol-gel TiO2 vrstvy, které prudce rostou s koncentrací kyseliny šťavelové. Vliv vloženého potenciálu závisí silně na typu TiO2 vrstvy. Fotodegradace při potenciálu otevřeného obvodu je pro částicovou vrstvu asi 4 krát vyšší než pro sol-gel vrstvu. Při aplikaci potenciálu 0.6 V (NKE) u částicové vrstvy vede ke zvýšení rychlosti o 130 % (vzhledem k rychlosti při potenciálu otevřeného obvodu) zatímco v případě sol gel vrstvy je zvýšení daleko vyšší (o 350 %).
