Description	The employment of archive materials is clearly becoming the norm in contemporary art, yet the reasons for this practice vary fairly widely. For Central and East European artists, they include the forcible loss of a dominant interpretation of history and the sense that the preconditions of one’s own work must be established on one’s own. For the young Czech artist Dominik Lang there is, moreover, a purely personal motive: unlike most of his colleagues, he did not have to search for the ruins of Modernism in archives and storage rooms, as he was encountering them from early childhood in the studio of his father Jiří Lang. The focus of Lang’s „Expanded Anxiety“ (2013) is the work of the Czech Cubist sculptor Otto Gutfreund (1889-1927), whose significance for J. Lang is analogical to the significance of J. Lang for his son. From a certain viewpoint, then, D.
