Description
  • For set of 20 heavily polluted soil samples pseudo-total content of Cd, Pb and Zn was determined by FAAS. Franctionation of humic substances was done. Content of above mentioned heavy metals in each humus fraction was determined (by means of FAAS) or calculated. These heavy metals are found to be bound more on fulvic acid than on humic acid probably due to higher amount of functional groups and higher cation exchange capacity of fulvic acids. It can be concluded that fulvic acids are generally more important in metal binding in soils. Due to the fact that fulvic acid are more mobile and easily soluble in a wide pH range metals especially Zn and Cd became more mobile and bioavailable. Relatively higher share of the humic acid fraction was found for lead this leads to imobilization of this metal rhtough binding on soil matter
