Description
  • The paper presents the results of research that was directed to evaluation of stand species composition and stand structure impact on humus forms state in the Nature Reserve Trčkov (Orlické hory Mts.). Three types of the forest stands which include spruce monoculture, beech monoculture, both on reforested agricultural land, and natural mixed multi-storeyed stand (spruce was main species and silver fir and European beech were admixed), were selected for this object of the research. Forest soil dynamics evaluation was further part of this project that was achieved by comparing of new data with older ones from the previous research. The results confirm distinct positive effect of beech species on soil chemistry properties of the forest floor, as well as relatively rapid forest soil character restoration. On the other hand, pure spruce stand is approved unfavourable on the main soil chemistry characteristics. Soil dynamics development between years 1996 – 2003 indicates continuing unfavourable changes –
