Description	This paper describes the present and the future situation of the combined heat and power (CHP) in the Czech Republic. In first part of article are described principles of CHP from the viewpoint of the energy customer. Also there are presented cogeneration technologies that are covered by European Directives. In second part is described actual situation CHP in the Czech Republic and some information from past and future. Last part of this article is about future of cogeneration in the Czech Republic and heating industry.
