  • The aim of the study represented quantitative and qulitative evaluation of grape seed composition in more or less grown grapevine cultivars in the Czech Republic for grape seed oil production. Thirty different accessions from the Czech national grapevine collection situated in one location were utilized for this purpose. The oil content ranged between 7.6 - 17.7%. Characteristics of berries, clusters, potential of grape cultivar production and dynamics of oil accumulationduring ripening were also take into account. Highest potential for grape seed oil production demonstrated %22Pinot noir%22 with 11.3 g of oil per kg of grapes. Concerning fatty acid profile linoleic (69.95 -77.19%), oleic (9.97-16.26%, palmitic (4.933-8.02%), stearic (2.91-5.25%)and alpha-linolenic acid (0.31-0.77%) represented the predominant ones. In addition, two tocopherols (alpha, gamma) and three tocotrienols (alpha, gamma, delta) were determined in all seed oils, gamma tocotrienol was the most abundant.
