| Description
| - In the locality “Slavíkovy ostrovy” at the town of Přelouč (the Czech Republic.), the construction of a navigation channel on the river of Labe is proposed. At the same location, protected butterflies from the Maculinea genus are present. Therefore, a substitute area for these rare insects has been evaluated in the framework of this project by analysing the meadow vegetation and the effect of different management strategies (mowing) on the presence of weeds or ruderal species preferred by the butterflies. A combined scale of abundance and dominance with statistical data evaluation has been applied using the canonical correspondence analysis (CCA), a method of weighted averaging. Evaluation of the vegetation in the areas for the purpose of judging the suitability of a substitute, potentially functional habitat. The meadow management carried (mowing in strips, early in May) out can be regarded as a compromise solution, even though provable relation to this management in the years 2004-2007 was not clea
