Description	The influence of cutting or mulching on winter coverage of five legume species was researched in a field experiment in Prague during 6 vegetation years. The highest coverage (90-100%) was found in the sward of Trifolium repens in the 1st and 2nd year of vegetation under 3 cuts per year. The coverage of L. corniculatus, C. varia and M. lupulina was 40-70% in the 1st year under 3 cuts and significantly lower under 2 or 1 harvest per year. During the 6 years it decreased markedly under all the treatments (logarithmic function). M. media generally did not cover more than 20-40 % of the surface (less than 10% under 1 harvest) during the 6 years.
