Description
  • Lower concentrations of observed elements in soil solution of treatments with plant cover in contrast to control pots indicated intensive uptake of Cd and Zn by plants. Higher concentrations were probably caused by root activity. Based on this experiment, we can presume that plants take up elements (Cd and Zn) from soil solution with relatively constant intensity during the vegetation period and soil resupplies element concentrations in soil solution with sufficient efficiency. These processes result in relatively constant concentrations of observed elements in soil solutions of all tested treatments.
