| Description
| - A comparison of N, K and ash concentration in biomass of Festulolium - Festuca arundinacea x Lolium multiflorum, Festuca arundinacea, Bromus marginatus and Bromus inermis was performed to evaluate their suitability as a potential renewable energy source. The planting of energy crops is a possible use of surplus arable land in the Czech Republic. The experiment was established at the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague (latitude: 50°08´ N, altitude: 14°24´ E) in 2002. The studied treatments were: harvested twice per year without fertilisation, harvested twice per year with fertilisation, harvested only once per year at the end of growing season without fertilisation and a single delayed harvest in spring without fertilisation. The concentration of nitrogen in the dry biomass in observed grass species ranged from 6,1 to 17,2 g.kg-1. The N concentration was highest in the second cut of the two-cut management system (P < 0,000). The concentration of K and ash was significantly affected by species
