| - The influence of different ways of different frequency of cutting or muching on winter coverage of Trifolium repens L., Medicago lupulina L., Lotus corniculatus L., Medicago media Pers, Coronilla varia L was researched in a field experiment in Prague (chernozem, altitude 281 m a. s. l., average annual precipitation 472 mm, the average year temperature 9.3°C) during 6 vegetation years. The highest coverage (90-100%) was found at T. repens in the 1st and 2nd year of vegetation under 3 cuts per year, later it decreased to 5-40%. The coverage of L. corniculatus, C. varia and M. lupulina was 40-70% in the first year under 3 cuts and significantly lower under two or one harvests per year. M. media generally did not cover more than 20-40 % of the surface under 2 or 3 harvests per year and it was less than 10% under 1 harvest per year. Similar trends of coverage (logarithmic function) were found at all researched species. The relationship of the coverage and vegetation year was strong (r=0,74-0,94) at T. re
