Description
  • High levels of acidificants deposition increase the intensity of soil acidification and change some mechanisms of these processes. This contribution deals with the Jizera Mountains region located in the North of Bohemia in so called %22Black triangle%22. Samples from 98 soil profiles, Cambisols, Podzols and Leptosols, were collected. The aim is to describe changes in acidificants concentrations among soil horizons. Total amount of sulphur, nitrogen and carbon was studied. Exchangeable aluminium (AlKCl), active and exchangeable pH (pHH2O, pHKCl) were also studied as other acidification indicators. The O horizon is enriched by all studied elements. Relatively higher amount of these elements in the B horizon is caused by podzolization processes. Carbon distribution is controlled by the natural presence of organic matter. Distribution of other elements is very similar and is probably related to C distribution. Organic matter due to its ability to bound elements could control distribution of S and N. Principa
