  • Twelve Standardbred horses were 8 weeks fed by extruded fodder and trained insubmaximal exercine. We studied some aspects of energy and protein metabolism serum glucose, lactate, lactate dehydrogenase (LD), hydroxybutyrate hydrogenase (HBD), total protein, albumin, urea aspartate aminotranspherase, and creatin kinase. With regards to energy metabolism the effects of the control and experimental feeding doses differed in the rate of lactate-pyruvate conversion. The horses of the control group less tollerated exercising as higher LD and HBD activities confirm. Parametres characterising metabolism of proteins show that the horses on the both types of diet utilised for energy also proteins in submaximal exercise. We did not demonstrete significant differences in the internal environmental changes in horses fed with different types of feeding dose.
