Description
| - There was observed the influence of reserve substances content (saccharose, fructose, starch) in alfalfa roots before overwintering on yield and forage quality in the following year. It was determined content of NL, PDI, fibre, ADF, NDF and NE. The different concentration of reserves substances was achieved by three various terms of last cutting (September, October, November). The highest content of reserve saccharides (starch 101 g.kg-1) was determinated on variant with last cutting in November over against the highest DM yield (16,74 t.ha-1) was reached on plots with last cutting in October. The forage quality was influenced only by sequence of cutting in the following year, no by content of sugars in roots before overwintering.
