Description	The author is focused on two methodical approaches for diagnoses final opportunities and threats. The first approach is based on the “transformational model” of the firm, which considers three dimensions: technical, infrastructure and value layers. The second approach is system analysis of selected macro and micro-environmental factors using mnemonic forms, which enables identification of potential problems together with opportunities for further development. Both, above outlined approaches are an ideal tools for continuous improvement of company effectiveness, as well as diagnostic tools for identification of symptoms for company crisis and subsequently generation of projects to overcome these.
