  • Green barley and malting barley are a source of numerous chemical compounds with undoubted positive effect on the human organism – these are especially substances with antioxidative effects, i.a. vitamin E. Research Institute of Brewing and Malting, PLC in the workplace of the Malting Institute Brno in collaboration with the Department of Crop Science and Breeding of Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno is engaged in the determination of tocol content in barley caryopses in dependence on varietal and genetic properties of materials. The method for the determination of tocol content was applied to the study of vitamin E activity in different growth phases of green barley and in the varietal lines of malting barley. Activity of vitamin E was the highest at the first growing phase (14.43 – 18.04 mg.kg-1) and the highest activity was found in the variety Sebastian. Green plants contain significantly less tocotrienols than barley caryopses.

  • Ječmen a zelený ječmen jsou zdrojem řady látek s pozitivními zdravotními účinky. Byl naměřen obsah jednotlivých izomerů tokoferolů a tokotrienolů v o bilkách ječmene a dále ve dvou růstových fázích zeleného ječmene. Na základě těchto měření byla stanovena aktivita vitamínu E. Byla potvrzena závislost aktivity vitamínu E na odrůdě a růstových podmínkách (lokalitě). Dále bylo zjištěno, že aktivita vitamínu E je nejvyšší při prvním odběru (14,43-18,04mg/kg), kdy je nejvyšší obsah alfa-tokoferolu. Nejvyšší obsah byl naměřen u odrůdy Sebastian. (cs)
