Description	This monographic publication includes some of materials that were developed based on teaching reference materials used in support of the LOTSEC curriculum. The teachers and students involved in the first two editions of the programme in 2012 and 2013 have tried to describe some fundamentals of employment of aviation assets in missions related to citizen security and safety. General rules and procedures for aviation operations are combined with examples and illustrative scenarios.A number of national lessons observed is included to facilitate better understanding of the complexities related to the employment of aviation assets in such scenarios. While this publication remains still a “living document” and will be subjected to substantial corrections and additional editions, it will serve the students and the teachers of the higher education institutions participating in the intensive programme as a tool of preparation for the classes during LOTSEC in 2014. It may be also used as a reference material in teaching problems related to crisis response operations and employment of aviation assets in missions related to citizen security and safety. The Chapter is focused on the development of air ambulance in the Czech Republic and the technical means to provide this service.
