Description
  • Combat survivability becomes the main requirement for new combat aircrafts. One of the factors that influence aircraft combat survivability and increase combat efficiency is an effective ABDAR program. Defense downsizing, air force restructuring and also modern technologies incorporated into next generation combat aircraft makes ABDAR program both more difficult and also more important. Battle damage assessment is pointed out as a key component of an effective aircraft battle damage repair program. Research is focused on development of more accurate, complete and rapid assessment process using image processing of damage photography combining with full 3D model of the aircraft to estimate an extent of damage of aircraft substructure and components.
