Description
  • In the article we are going to introduce a way to modify an ARINC reliability allocation method which enables us to apportion a reliability requirement among system items so that the optimum costs of a system (vehicle) warranty could be achieved. The first part of the paper deals with warranties themselves and assessing warranty costs. In another part we have described the principle of the ARINC method and suggested modifying it so that the warranty costs of single system items, when providing reliability requirements allocation, could be taken into consideration. Benefits obtained by using the modified ARINC method can be illustrated by an example of the reliability allocation of a combat vehicle.
