Description
  • The purpose of this work is to determine the possibility of modelling a composite laminate sample inspected by infrared thermography using finite element method. The carbon fibre/epoxy resin composite contains a delamination defect as one of the critical failure modes in laminates, as it can change significantly the structural stiffness and the load capacity. A proposal of 3D model with internal delamination is given and temperature field is analysed. The paper presents the analysis of results obtained by thermography experiments and simulation. Similarities and differences in the results obtained are analysed and discussed.
