Description
  • The main aim of this study was to find out and compare the extent of preparedness of pedagogical workers from selected basic schools for the occurrence and solving of bullying at school. A total of 128 teachers (106 women and 22 men), 10 headmasters and 10 educational consultants from five healthy schools and five control basic schools participated in this research. The quantitative and qualitative methods were both used. In comparison with the pedagogical workers from the control schools, the pedagogical workers from the healthy schools proved to be better prepared for the occurrence and solving of bullying only in some of the examined areas of our research. In the area of intervention skills and strategies of solving the initial stages of bullying, in both target groups significant deficiencies were identified. Their elimination should be the centre of interest in future research. Recommendations and suggestions for further research related to school bullying are discussed at the end of this study.
