Description	A dominant mutation Curly in D. melanogaster was shown to be completely suppressed by fluorescent light. This suppressive effect is the result of a combination of the electric field and light, both factors being produced by fluorescent tubes. This study clarifies the basic mechanism of this unique phenomenon. Riboflavin, which is decomposed by light, and ion currents altered by electromagnetic fields seem to play a key role in this phenomenon.
