Description
  • Size of cells, way of multiplication and shape of colonies were analyzed in natural populations, semi-cultures derived from natural populations and in cultivated strains of Microcystis morphospecies. Samples were taken from eutrophic and hypertrophic water-bodies. After preliminary testing, we focused on cell diameter (ANOVA stat-program). We confirmed, that three of the investigated morphospecies (M. aeruginosa, M. viridis and M. wesenbergii) kept well their cell sizes when measured either in natural populations or in cultivated strains. According to our results, M. flos-aquae and M. ichthyoblabe populations did not differ. Large and small cells had the same origin. Small cells derived from large ones during a fast reproduction phase. The aim was to confirm existence of stable characters of the Microcystis morphotypes and thus to encourage future genetic investigation of internal diversity of this important genus.

  • Byly analyzovány morfologické znaky u druhů rodu Microcystis (rozměry buněk, způsob dělení a typ kolonií) v přírodních vzorkách z eutrofních a hypertrofních lokalit, ze semikultur a kultivovaných kmenů z experimentů. Po předchozím testování byl vybrán a podrobně zkoumán a vyhodnocen průměr buněk (ANOVA stat-program). Potvrdili jsme, že populace a klony M. aeruginosa, M. viridis and M. wesenbergii jsou dobře rozlišitelné, ať už pocházejí z kultivačního prostředí nebo jakékoli lokality. Podle našich výsledků se neliší populace M. flos-aquae and M. ichthyoblabe. Kolonie se skládají z malých i velkých buněk, přičemž malé vznikají z velkých ve fázi rychlého dělení. Cílem práce bylo potvrdit existenci stálých morfologických znaků, na jejichž základě lze druhy odlišit a podnítit genetický výzkum zaměřený na otázky spojené s diversifikací tohoto, podle sekvencí 16S rRNA, dosud monofyletického rodu.
