Description
  • Byly vyhodnoceny 3 roky monitorování teploty, průhlednosti, chlorofylu a baktérií na vertikálním profilu v jižní části jezera Bajkal. Fytoplankton a mikrobiální smyčka byly sledovány na stejném místě v eufotické vrstvě v březnu pod ledem. Celková buněčná primární produkce (> 1um) byla 204 - 240 mg C/d/m^-2, z toho 35% v buňkách pikocyanobaktérií (1 - 3 um). Celková produkce včetně extracelulární byla 235 - 387 mg C/d/m^-2 a exudáty byly přímo využívány baktériemi. To dosahovalo 1 - 5% buněčné produkce v horních 20m a 11 - 77% buněčné produkce v hlubších vrstvách limitovaných světlem. (cs)
  • Three years of monitoring temperature, transparency, chlorophyll and bacteria at the vertical profile in the South basin of Lake Baikal were evaluated. Phytoplankton and the microbial loop in euphotic layer at the same site were investigated during March under the ice. Total primary cellular production (>1um) was 204 - 240 mg C/d/m square, with 35% of it in cells 1 – 3 um (picocyanobacteria). Total production (incl. extracellular) was 235 – 387 mg C/d/m square and the exudates were readily used by bacteria. This amounted to 1 – 5% of cellular production in upper 20m of water, and 11 – 77% of cellular production in deeper, light-limited layers. Bacterial counts reached 0.5 – 1.4 x 10 mill/ml and numbers of colony forming units on agar were 3 – 4 orders lower. Heterotrophic flagellates reached 6 to 87 ind/ml and ciliates 0.2 – 1.2 ind/ml. Bacterial production corresponded to a use of 20 – 40% of primary production per 24h in layers up to 20m.
