| - In the 2000 hydrological year, the Černé watershed was a net source of SO<sub>4</sub><sup>2-</sup>, NO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>, H<sup>+</sup>, Ca<sup>2+</sup>, Mg<sup>2+</sup>, Na<sup>+</sup>, Si, Al, and Fe and a net sink for NH<sub>4</sub><sup>+</sup>, K<sup>+</sup>, DOC, TON, and TP in comparison to the deposition on the forest floor. Net terrestrial production of H<sup>+</sup>, was dominated by biochemical transformations of NH<sub>4</sub><sup>+</sup> and NO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup> production from the pool of soil organic N (129 meq m<sup>-2</sup> yr<sup>-1</sup>), and by SO<sub>4</sub><sup>2-</sup> release from soil (80 meq m<sup>-2</sup> yr<sup>-1</sup>). Ionic composition of tributaries showed seasonal variations with pronounced changes in NO<sub>3</sub><sup>-</sup>, base cations and Al concentrations.
