Description	We addressed a question of whether experimental manipulations that increase life span also reduce physical activity and molecular oxidative damage in three longevity phenotypes, reproducing, allatectomized and diapausing Pyrrhocoris apterus. Diapause or allatectomy was associated with increase life span, but only diapausing individuals of both sexes were less active. In males, the age-related increase in carbonyl content was similar in all longevity phenotypes. In diapausing females, both the relative and absolute carbonyl levels failed to increase with age, while only the increase in the relative carbonyl level was absent in allatectomized females.
