| - In the attempt to describe expressed genes and their dynamics throughout the feeding period, cDNA libraries from four different feeding stages of Ixodes ricinus females were constructed. Approximately 600 randomly selected clones from each cDNA library were sequenced and analyzed. From a total 2304 sequenced clones, 1881 sequences forming 1274 clusters underwent subsequent functional analysis using customized bioinformatics software. Clusters were sorted according to their predicted function and quantitative comparison among the four libraries was made. Several groups of over-expressed genes associated with feeding were found. These genes posses a secretion signal and may be involved in tick attachment, feeding or evading the host immune system. Many transcripts clustered into families of related genes with stage-specific expression. Comparison to Ixodes scapularis and I. pacificus transcripts was made.

- Byly připraveny cDNA knihovny ze slinných žláz dospělých samic klíštěte Ixodes ricinus získaných ve čtyřech různých intervalech po přisátí. Bylo osekvenováno a analyzováno přibližně 600 klonů z každé cDNA knihovny. Z celkového počtu 2304 klonů bylo vybráno 1881 kvalitních sekvencí, které se řadily do 1274 klastrů. Pro analýzu byl použit vlastní upravený software. Klastry byly roztříděné podle předpokládané funkce a bylo provedeno kvantitativní srovnání mezi knihovnami. Bylo nalezeno několik overexprimovaných genů spojených se sáním klíštěte, které nesly signální sekvenci a pravděpodobně budou mít úlohu v interakci mezi klíštětem a hostitelem. Bylo provedeno srovnání s druhy Ixodes scapularis a Ixodes pacificus. (cs)
