Description	Determination of embryonic stages is an important prerequisite for the preparation of long-term cryopreservation of eggs and embryos of the predatory gall midge Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rond.) (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae). This paper describes progress of the embryonic development of this insect examined with the light microscopy. Gall midge embryogenesis, lasts, on average, 102 hours at 17 °C and 144 hours at 15 °C. Living embryos can be quickly separated into ten stages that are clearly defined by specific morphological markers. The necessity of selecting definite embryonic stages for cryobiological storage is discussed. (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) je přesné stanovení jednotlivých fází embryogeneze. Publikace podává podrobný popis a vyobrazení procesu embryogeneze afidofágní belomorky, provedené metodami optické mikroskopie. Délka embryogeneze závisí na teplotě: při 17 °C trvá průměrně 102 hodin; při 15 °C – 144 hodin. Bylo vymezeno deset fází procesu embryogeneze A. aphidimyza, zřetelně odlišitelných podle specifických morfologických markérů. Je diskutována vhodnost vybraných fází pro kryobiologické skladování.
