Description
  • V Řecku, Bulharsku, Rumunsku a Chorvatsku bylo sesbíráno 1327 klíšťat z 211 želv druhů Testudo marginata, T. graeca a T. hermanni patřících do druhů Hyalomma aegyptium, Haemaphysalis sulcata, H. inermis a Rhipicephalus sanguineus. Potvrdili jsme silnou dominanci všech životních stádií H. aegyptium mezi klíšťaty parazitujícími na západně palearktických želvách rodu Testudo. Významná část klíšťat sesbíraných ze želv v JZ Bulharsku reprezentovala larvy a nymfy H. sulcata. Na stejné lokalitě jsme sesbírali jednu larvu a jednu nymfu H. inermis z jedné of T. hermanni. • Collection of 1327 ticks sampled throughout Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, from 211 tortoises Testudo marginata, T. graeca, and T. hermanni, revealed the presence of Hyalomma aegyptium, Haemaphysalis sulcata, H. inermis and Rhipicephalus sanguineus. We confirmed the strong dominance of all life stages of H. aegyptium among ticks parasitizing W Palaearctic tortoises of genus Testudo. A considerable portion of ticks collected from tortoises in SW Bulgaria represent larvae and nymphs of H. sulcata. At the same area we collected as exception one larva and one nymph of H. inermis from a single specimen of T. hermanni. Our findings of four adults of R. sanguineus is the first record of this species from reptilian host. T. marginata and T. graeca represent in the Balkans the principal hosts of H. aegyptium, whereas T. hermanni serves only as an alternative host in the areas close to range of either T. marginata or T. graeca.
