  • Karas stříbřitý, Carassius auratus gibelio vnikl na území České republiky v roce 1975. Výchozí populace byly tvořeny triploidními samicemi, které se množily gynogeneticky a rozšířily se po celé sladkovodní síti a mnoha soustavách rybničního chovu ryb. Po roce 1990 se většina populací postupně transformovala na smíšený typ populací s diploidními, triploidními a tetraploidními samicemi a samci. K poznání populačních změn a reprodukční strategie C. a. gibelio byla prováděna umělá reprodukce. Samci daných úrovní ploidie produkovali haploidní, aneuploidní a/nebo diploidní životaschopné a pohyblivé spermie s koncentrací významně se snižující pro tetraploidy a s počátečními parametry motility lišícími se mezi úrovněmi ploidie. Analýzy potomstva 97 párových výtěrů mezi C. a. gibelio téže nebo různé ploidie i s použitím intaktního nebo inaktivního spermatu jiných kaprovitých druhů odhalily, že diploidní samice C. a. gibelio vykazují tři základní reprodukční vzorce: i) %22bisexuální%22 s produkcí životnéh (cs)
