  • This work was aimed to monitor of total mercury (THg) and methylmercury (MeHg) contamination level in Rožmberk, Spolský, Nezmar and Velký Bědný ponds in the Czech Republic. Seven individuals of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) were sampled from each pond. Muscle and pooled samples of liver, milt and egg were used for analysis. THg and MeHg contents were found in all samples of muscle and liver. MeHg content in milt and egg were under detection limit. THg content in muscle was in range 0.018-0.063 mg.kg w.w. and MeHg content was in range 0.019-0.063 mg.kg w.w. The proportion of MeHg to THg in fish muscle was in range 90-100%. THg and MeHg contents were significantly hogher (p<0.05) in fish from Spolský pond in comparision toNezmar pond.   • Předkládaná práce se zabývá monitoringem kontaminace českých rybníků celkovou rtutí (THg) a methylrtutí (MeHg). Na Spolském a Velkém bědném rybníku a na rybnících Rožmberk a Nezmar bylo odebráno po sedmi jedincích kapra obecného (Cyprinus carpio). Pro analýzu obsahu rtuti byly použity vzorky svaloviny, mlíčí a jiker a směsné vzorky jater ryb. Zatímco obsah celkové rtuti v mlíčí a v jikrách byly pod limity detekce, ve všech vzorcích svaloviny a jater byla celková rtuť a methylrtuť prokázána. Obsah celkové rtuti ve svalovině a v játrech se pohyboval v rozmezích 0,018-0,063 resp. 0,019-0,063 mg/kg, z čehož 90-100% celkového obsahu rtuti ve svalovině tvořila methylrtuť. U ryb pocházejících ze Spolského rybníku byl zjištěn signifikantně vyšší (p<0,05) obsah THg a MeHg oproti rybám z rybníku Nezmar. Poměr MeHg/THg byl signifikantně vyšší u ryb ze Spolského rybníku, Rožmberku a Nezmaru v porovnání s rybami z Velkého Bědného rybníka. Nebyla zjištěna signifikantní korelace mezi délkou těla a hmotností ryb (cs)
