  • The chapter deals with the typologies, dimensions and definitions of urban agriculture and provide a short excursion to the history of urban gardening in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The role of gardening as a potential contribution to the improvement of individual and household resilience to economic fluctuations, climate variability, and food insecurity are discussed. The aim was to show the main trends and types of food production and its value-added dimensions in the urban environment.
