Description
  • The article in its theoretical part deals with the aspects of health in relation to the value system of a person and especially of children and youth. It takes into account the holistic view of a person, their health in the physical, mental, social, economic, ethic, cultural and spiritual areas. In the practical part the values are analysed at groups of children and youth living in institutional care and groups of children and youth living with parents. The statistical processing of data is conducted through Chi-test and crosstables. The results of value orientation show the main three values to be: Family, Friendship, Hobbies for children and youth living in institutional care, and Family, Friendship and Friendship for children and youth living with parents. Statistically meaningful are only the values of Family and Health, which are more important for children and youth living with parents than for those living in residential care. From the statistical point of view the value of friendship is not influenced by whether the children live in institutional care or at home with their parents. The research shows, that children primarily recognize the individual areas of health, with social health dominating all values. The research is supported by team project in cooperation with the students of Education to Health: GAJU n. 101/2011/S %22Psycho-social and Somatic Indicators in Comparison with Circadian Rhythms%22.
