Description
| - Managed landscape consists of different biotopes more or less affected by the human. Natureclose biotopes operate in short-circulating cycles of nutrients, water and minimize their matter losses. Today's landscape management results in a serious modification of the landscape ecological system. Agricultural as well as municipal management results in removing water from the landscape by the drainage networks and reduction of natural vegetation throughout large areas. It has resulted in highly-fluctuating discharges in streams and increased losses of nutrients and basic cations. Chemistry of surface waters in six different localities within the typical agricultural landscape in the Czech Republic was studied from 2007 to 2009. The conductivity of water in human impacted localities was around 600 mS.cm-1 while in natureclose localities only 200 mS.cm-1.
