Description	The paper deals with recessive glycogen storage disease V (muscle glycogen phosphorylase) in cattle population in the Czech Republic. Until, the disorder was found only in Charolais cattle. We have not found a heterozygous carrier of GSD V in 23 Charolais, 4 Limousine, 1 Beef Simmental, 3 Blonde d´Aquitaine, 6 Belgian Blue, and 1 Aberdeen-Angus young animals. The occurence of lethal recessive inherited disorders is sporadic, but long-term latent spread by heterozygous carriers increases the frequency of recessive allele and homozygous animals. The monitoring should be focused on undesirable recessives occuring specifically in breed.
