| - In the years 1998 - 2000 we established small-plot experiments with amaranth as a marginal grain crop in the experimental site in České Budějovice (the property of the Department of Plant Production, the Faculty of Agriculture, the University of South Bohemia). The following cultivars of amaranth were seeded into the soil infested naturally with Fusarium fungi: K 432 Amaranthus hybrid, K 433 Amaranthus hybrid, Koniz Amaranthus hypochondriacus, Dakota Amaranthus cruentus, No 1008 Amaranthus hypochondriacus, A 200 D Amaranthus cruentus and Amar RR 150 Amaranthus cruentus.Considering pathogenic fungi involved in the problems of amaranth seeds storing, we focused on parasitic fungi of the genus Fusarium and Penicillium which were not determined as to their species.Considering the attack by Fusarium and Penicillium fungi, the cultivar K 432 Amaranthus hybrid proved to be the most resistant. - V letech 1998 - 2000 probíhaly maloparcelkové pokusy s okrajovou obilninou amarant na stanovišti v Českých Budějovicích (školní pozemek katedry rostlinné výroby, JU ZF). Do půdy přirozeně zamořené houbami rodu Fusarium se vysely odrůdy amarantu, kde se během vegetační sezóny sledoval zdravotní stav rostlin. Ve sledovaném období byly použity následující odrůdy: K 432 Amaranthus hybrid, K 433 Amaranthus hybrid, Koniz Amaranthus hypochondriacus, Dakota Amaranthus cruentus, No 1008 Amaranthus hypochondriacus, A 200 D Amaranthus cruentus, Amar RR 150 Amaranthus cruenthus a Olpir Amaranthus cruenthus.Z patogenních hub podílejících se na problematice skladování semen amarantu jsme se soustředili na parazitické houby rodu Fusarium a Penicillium, které druhově determinovány nebyly.Z hlediska napadení houbami rodu Fusarium a Penicillium lze jako nejvhodnější k pěstování doporučit odrůdu K 432 Amaranthus hybrid. Tato odrůda je v porovnání s nejvíce napadenými odrůdami nízkého vzrůstu a má nejdelší vegetač
