Description	Females of farm animals receiving diets low in I and with higher content of glucosinolates and nitrates give birth to offspring with enlarged the thyroid gland (1,2) and with various manifestations of hypothyreosis.The objective of this study was to r eview effect of the goitrogenic load of ewes on proteosyntesis in lambs during gestation and period of colostrum nutrition. The postnatal changes of plasmatic proteins were observed in three groups (n=5-7) of lambs born to ewes which received daily 4,2 mmol of glucosinolates and 4 g of sodium nitrate per animal in combination with different supplementation with I and Se. In control group was the basic diet supplemented with I and Se. The born lambs received only maternal colostrum. Blood samples were collected from v. jugularis after birth, 24 and 48 hours thereafter. As a parameter of proteosyntesis was chosen the total protein assayed by biuret method. The protein fractions were assayed by electrophoresis. .
