  • The rapid and simple DNA microextraction method is important for a nondestructive, early DNA diagnostic system in plant-breeding programs. We introduce our opportunity with the DNeasy(TM) Plant Mini Kit (QIAGEN), which provides a fast and simple way to isolate total genomic DNA from different plant genera: Brassica, Solanum, Dactylorhiza, Gymnadenia, Gentiana, Gentianella, Orchis, Melampyrum, Dactylis, Lolium, Festuca, Trifolium, Pinus in comparison with other methods of MURRAY and THOMPSON (1980), DELAPORTA et al. (1983) and EDWARDS (1991). We have found DNeasy Plant Mini Kit DNA isolation method suitable for PCR and related methods: RAPD, PCR-RFLP and AFLP.
