  • Dans les romans d´ Éric Chevillard, nous trouvons souvent des personnages de rêveurs excentriques souhaitant échapper à leur condition ou tâchant avec plus ou moins de succès de changer le monde dans lequel ils vivent. Parmi eux, Furne du roman Le caoutchouc décidément et le protagoniste anonyme du roman Au plafond. Par le biais de ces personnages Chevillard représente le désir humain d´un monde meilleur et, avec l´ironie qui lui est propre, également la démésure, l´irréalisme et parfois le dérisoire de ces rêves.
  • In the novels of Éric Chevillard, a contemporary French author, we can often find a specific kind of characters: eccentric dreamers who long for escaping their deal or try with more or less success to change the world in which they are living. The most typical of them are Furne in the novel Le caoutchouc décidément and the anonymous protagonist of the novel Au plafond. By their medium Chevillard represents humans? desire for better world, but also, with his specific irony, he depicts how their dreams are sometimes absurd, unrealistic and even ridiculous. (en)
  • V románech současného francouzského spisovatele Érika Chevillarda často nalézáme postavy excentrických snílků, kteří touží uniknout svému údělu nebo se více či méně neúspěšně snaží změnit svět, v němž žijí. Nejvýraznějšími představiteli jsou Furne z románu Le caoutchouc décidément a bezejmenný protagonista románu Au plafond. Prostřednictvím těchto postav Chevillard zobrazil lidskou touhu po lepším světě, ale s ironií sobě vlastní také přemrštěnost, utopičnost a někdy i směšnost těchto snů. (cs)
