  • The Center of Prevention of Civilization Diseases is a shared facility of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies and company Danone a. s. Its activities are focused on the primary and secondary prevention of civilization diseases and counselling in the field of healthy lifestyle. Among the activities that take place here, include individual counselling with the possibility of the use of the nutritional analysis Nutri-Dan program which is loaned by company Danone, testing the value of glucose and cholesterol from the peripheral blood, but also the ability to perform anthropometric measurements. The Centre is also used for the practical lessons for students of the nursing who participate in the implementation of the advice in the field during the days of health and professional lectures associated with an individual consulting. The present contribution contains the results found in the framework of the activities of the Centre of Prevention of Civilization Diseases in the period from September 2010 to March 2012, which are divided by academic years during that period. In the academic year 2010/2011 in the framework of these activities was examined 147 clients, in the next academic year 2011/2012 then the number of clients was 112. To determine the composition of the clients was monitored by their age and sex. For both periods the observed data show a significant predominance of female respondents, the age structure facing clients in the first academic year for individuals aged 60 years then in the second primarily to individuals aged 18 to 30 years. From other indicators which have a direct relationship to determine the risk for cardiovascular disease, were tracked the height, weight, body fat, Body Mass Index (BMI), glucose and cholesterol values in the peripheral blood.
