  • This paper is focused on the numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations using the local time step discontinuous Galerkin method. This modern method with high order of spatial accuracy significantly improves the computational efficiency of explicit schemes, while maintaining their advantages. The method is used for the numerical simulation of air flow in the sealing gap of a screw compressor.
