Description	This study shows quantified stereophotogrammetric data regarding the perineal strain and its direction at the final stage of delivery. Based on the results, a technique of manual perineal protection has been proposed. Further experimental and clinical studies are needed, however, to evaluate whether this proposed technique may assist in reducing obstetric perineal trauma.
